
The Bulverket is the remnants of a large wooden fortification at Lake Tingstäde in Sweden. When built in the 1130s, it consisted of a platform with houses surrounded by a double palisade. The bottom picture shows the Geologist Lennart von Post recovering part of the Bulverket in 1927 [1387×2759]
