There’s a social media account called Footy Scran that shows food available at sports venues around the world. What we pay in the US is multiples of what they do over there.

Go to liquor store. Buy shooters. Bring those to game. Get $4 large soda. Pour in shooters. Drunk for $4

The mindset people had towards corporations 50 years ago was a 180 compared to today. They spent 50 years reeducating us, making us think they had the right to take as much money from us as possible.

I can’t afford the tickets much less the hot dog. We have become a two tier economy, rich and poor. A family of four going to a top level sporting event in the US is going to cost about $500. Ridiculous.

Street pricing is different depending on what street you’re standing on. Go get a soda outside the Met. Now walk over to third avenue and get one from a street vendor.

Thankful for Arthur Blank. As Atlanta Falcons owner, he’s kept concession prices at Mercedes-Benz Stadium reasonable, like $2 hot dogs and sodas, $3 nachos, $5 domestic beers, $6 premium beers. It’s such a simple, fan-first move, and it makes actually going to games and concerts feel more accessible, especially for families.

I think we all know that it is too late to change anything. The consumer exists now and they are not going to change. People that live paycheck to paycheck go to these places and waste their money. They can’t stop and I’m sure they don’t want to change.

inflation being ‘perpetrated’ by billionaires is obviously an easy cop-out but it’s simply not the whole story.. printing money and increasing the money supply does that. businesses adjust prices based on labor costs and material/fuel. simple as that. want prices to go down? call your local congressman and tell them to stop printing money. thank you that is all

Why hasn’t anyone done anything? The billionaire has more money and better lawyers. Even the state is going to get ground down by them.

Yeah, that’s just not how the world works.
The stadiums can charge whatever they want and your little video won’t change that. People will still want food and drink at events and inside the venue they have a monopoly.
Yeah it sucks, but there’s literally nothing you can do about it.
What a waste of breath.

Personally, id like to tap myself in the back for never buying into these practices. If I know gonna be stuck somewhere like a venue, I’m making sure to eat beforehand.
And even if i don’t eat prior, it’s really easy to just not eat. I frequently have days where i simply don’t eat anything. It’s not hard.

For anyone who feels like going to professional sports games are out of the question because of prices, consider going to local minor league or semi-pro games!
I’m a soccer fan so I know there are more options for me than some other sports, but tickets for USL games (pro league, one level lower than MLS) are as low as 15 or 20 bucks, and beer/ food prices are comparable to your average food truck or bar in the area, sometimes cheaper on weekday games. And the atmosphere is great, lots more families and an organic feeling of fandom!

This doesn’t bother me, and I don’t ever think much about it because I have the ability to not buy it if I think it is priced too high. Can’t you just easily leave the stadium and buy shit for cheaper right outside? So confused.
