The way this chocolate bar is divided

    1. Tony’s chocolates are divided unequally to represent the inequality in the chocolate industry

      fyi:

Tony’s Chocolonely bars are intentionally broken into uneven, irregular chunks to symbolize the inequality and unfair distribution of profits within the chocolate supply chain.

    3. Just to add: Tony’s is one of the companies that truly believes in sustainable chocolate farming and not exploiting the farmers.

    4. I bought this once because I had just heard a podcast about the atrocities of the cocoa industry and it made me crave chocolate (I’m evil, I know) so I had to go get this brand specifically. It is so fucking good I will never eat big brand chocolate again. Atrocities aside, it just tastes like garbage compared to Tony’s.

    5. I used to live with my cousins as a kid, and we always split every chocolate bar into equal parts to keep everyone happy.

Having this in the house would’ve probably ended up in a murder or two.

    6. The bottom left ones are also supposed to shaped like Africas west coast! Ghana, Togo, Benin, Nigeria and Cameroon with the long skinny piece being the sea!

    7. This is so hard to share and is so hard to break up!!! I hate sharing it with my fiancé

    8. Additionally, the difficulty of breaking a piece off, slows down the rate at which I consume it.

    9. I admire the reason for Tony’s chocolate to be divided in the way it is. It does, however, drive me completely nuts and I hate buying it for that reason.

      I am a Whittaker’s chocolate girl, myself.

Did you know that Tony’s chocolates are divided into unequal pieces to represent the inequality in the chocolate industry

    11. I love their chocolate and what they stand for but these are always a fking nightmare to eat

    12. Awful irresponsible design when it comes to consumer efforts at portion control, all dressed up with ethically concious flim-flam.

      Don’t buy the bullshit.

It’s simply the CEO’s boot that accidentally stood on a bar of the product and now they keep it for prosperity.

    14. This is posted so often here its almost a meme. It follows a set pattern:

      – Someone posts Tony’s Chocoloney chocolate bar to show the odd and uneven segments

      – people rush to the comments to explain that it’s making a point about slavery and unfair practices in chocolate production

      – THEN you have Team 3 dropping in to say well ackshully, Tony’s isn’t perfect and has some bad things in its production

One of the reasons I don’t really buy Tony’s chocolonely. Absolutely shit to break apart. There’s other fair-trade chocolate for people who want to share their chocolate in nice divisible pieces.

    16. Its hard to find in the wild but the white chocolate with raspberry poppin’ candies gives the salted caramel a run for its money as best of Tony’s

    17. The Netflix docuseries, Rotten, is what got me to try Tony’s in the first place. Pretty damn good bar. I used to find only the milk chocolate and caramel bars in CVS. It’s nice to see them in grocery stores with more varieties now.

Yo thanks for reminding me I’ve got some of their chocolate left in my bag. It’s the only chocolate bar I can’t finish in one day cause it’s so thick, def recommend.

    19. Is it just me or does it say “colon” on a chocolate bar? Not what I’d want to be thinking about when I eat chocolate….

    20. My magic mushroom choclate comes like this so i can manage the dose depending on the need 🙂

They had a funny controversy once where one of the windows on their Christmas advent calendar didn’t have any chocolate inside, to make a point about inequality. Nobody appreciated it 😆

I’m genuinely surprised no one else here seems to enjoy the uneven division! I love it, I like how all the bits are a slightly different sensory experience when you eat them. The tiny spiky bit on the right and the round one are my favourite

    23. You’re all missing the point here. When your SO asks you for a piece you give them one of the little bits, you then give yourself one of the large bits. When they say you’ve had more you point out you’ve had one piece each. — equality.
