    1. I mean, it’s still pretty big regardless.

Though this whole debacle is absurd, because we already have a military base on Greenland and we have a treaty that allows us the opportunity to build more, if we deem them necessary. There is no reason to invade or purchase Greenland because they would let us do pretty much anything necessary for NATO security if we just *asked nicely*.

The same holds true for any mining we might want to do. If American companies wanted to access minerals, they just need to ask for permission. There’s no reason that Greenland has to be under American ownership for American companies to mine it.

Let’s be real, you didn’t have to qualify anything past “he’s so fucking stupid”

    3. A former geography teacher of mine once said that Greenland is actually roughly the same size as the Arabian Peninsula. That’s one way you can evaluate map distortion.

    4. Come on, who’s pushing this nonsense? Should the United States, the signatory guaranteeing security to the rest of the NATO members, invade a treaty member, well that would accomplish his and his bosses main goal. Fracturing NATO.

    5. My theory is he saw the “Risk” game board and that’s why it’s “important” to military action.

    6. If you took the names off and asked Piggy Trump to find Greenland on a globe, he’d fail even if you gave him three tries.

    7. I am surprised he hasn’t tried to claim Antarctica for himself. He’d have a stranglehold on all the ice and every country would have to buy ice from him.

    8. He can’t just force Greenland to join the USA because they’ll just succeed, possibly triggering others to also.
      Then it’ll be civil war.
      He’s a Russian agent.

It’s smaller than it looks on the map. But it’s still large enough to stretch from Tijuana to Winnipeg. It’s like the 12th largest nation in the world.

Everyone talks about minerals, but nobody talks about the water. Barring Antarctica, it has the largest store of freshwater on the planet. Global warming will make that their most valuable resource. And it could be mostly pumped overland to the US.
