another accurate description of the plot is “dances with Pocahontas but with aliens”.

    1. Nah, Avatar is the story about what happens when you run from your fate and let yourself be frozen into an iceberg for 100 years

    2. Not really? I only watched the first Movie, but the RDA is a cooperation. Dunno if they also rule the earth, but per se he betrayed noone but a greedy company

Avatar is what happens when your “planet” stops being worth supporting and a viable alternative is supplied.

    4. Avatar’s story is about as deep as a kiddie pool, its just there to keep things moving so James Cameron can do his visual magic. I’m not saying that as a bad thing, it lets the plot not get in the way of the experience

Quarich in the third movie: “you can get alien booty and stay true to the corporation, Jake!”

Not crazy for the movie designa but the way some artists draw them HOOOOOH yeah all my loyalities will crumble on the spot

To his defense, his kind fuck up their own planet and came in to fuck up this other planet. But sure, he did it because he was down bad for blue cheeks.

    8. Forgot to mention said man has nothing left on earth, why not start anew in another planet

that just sounds like “dude-bro” mentality after seeing the movie for 30 minutes. he was revolting against an imperial force. he might’ve bounced on some blue booty, but he made kids out of it.

Nah, he betrayed a greedy immoral regime willing to kill a distant planet of intelligent life for magic rocks.

The Alien cheeks just sweetened the deal

    11. Avatar is a story of a colonizer who deserts from his army to fight with the innocent native ppl.

    12. Every time I see someone critiquing Avatar it’s so blatantly obvious that they did not watch the movie

Is refusing to commit genocide all for a rock that they don’t even explain why we actually need it really betraying the human race??

    14. I find the trend of dumbing down every show or movie into a shitty one liner so annoying. It’s just a way for people to feel superior to those who enjoy things. You can do this with anything.

“Star Wars is the story of an angry kid destroying the universe because his mom died.”

Also everything is Shakespeare at the end of the day.

    15. Wow now we’re calling people from the Southern Water Tribe “aliens”, huh? Typical isolationist earth nation

    16. Everyone says this and acts like The human side and Avatar was there to save the planet when it’s literally a big corporation.

      More accurate to say

“Man who gave up the use of his legs in military service, was too poor to afford the basic treatment that all rich folk keep under lock and key that could have fixed his legs, lives on a planet he himself describes as being dead and that there is “no green there”. Then learns his only family member died during a Corpo-Imperialist Colonization attempt on an alien planet, agrees to take his brother’s place in order to afford spinal surgery, then reaches the alien planet after months in cryosleep, sees how beautiful and untouched by corporate exploitation it is, finds and meets a woman he genuinely falls deeply in love with, spends at least like a year learning everything about her culture and people, and then realizes he quite likes being able to walk, have someone who he loves and loves him in return, and NOT living on a dry dead gray husk of a world barely clinging to life after it was ruthlessly ground to death by the same people who refused him a basic surgery because he couldn’t afford it.”

Yeah, I’d choose the Na’vi too if I lived on an Earth as shitty as the one Jake describes
