Result: China’s oil imports were already decreasing due to a slowing economy and increased usage of EVs and solar. Plus Venezuela only supplied 4% of China’s oil. But invading Venezuela gives more cover for China’s treatment of Taiwan, so thanks for that.
Plan: threaten Canada by devaluing their oil exports to the US.
Result: Time for CA to finally build that pipeline to the Pacific so that they can export to Asia.
Plan: Use Venezuela’s fate to threaten other small countries.
Result: well, yeah, that’s working so far. Super proud of that one.
