      A candidate for CEO is almost fully vetted, and while there were a few technical felony convictions, thrre was nothing in his past that you would say rises to the level of “actual crime”. Only a few fraud charges, a minor case of charity fraud resulting in sanctions, an “adjudicated rape,” but nothing serious.

      You’re about to recommend he be hired, but then this packet arrives marked “past due”
