my great grandma is top right—her name was natalie, and she dreamed of being the first woman lawyer in her state. despite getting a full scholarship at 16, she had to quit school and work to send money back to her family and never got to achieve that dream. 100 years later, i’m graduating from law school this february, and i think about how i’m living out her dreams because of what she sacrificed.
