    1. Wild how a random scroll can turn into a free eye exam, YouTube shorts just became WebMD with jump cuts.

This doctor put in quite a bit of effort to help out a total stranger. Whether it turned out to be a medical issue or not, he still noticed something that he deemed concerning and said something.

We need more humans like this.

Content creators even get free medical diagnosis besides the ad-revenue money, smh. Us peasants need a doctor’s appointments for that.

    4. Dude def didnt see the comment, hes too busy pumping out mid meme videos cause he keeps popping up on my youtube

There’s doctors like this who will go out of their way to help a stranger

And there’s doctors who will stand there bored while you’re suffering or in agony right in front of them and they will tell you to just stop being anxious.

    6. Reminds me of the time a person sitting behind the bench at a hockey game told the trainer on the bench that they saw something concerning on their neck. Turns out it was malignant and they had it removed. Potential lifesaving tip from the fan.

Now this is a situation I’d like to see an update on. I hope all goes well for the dude.

After watching a home design show, some guy watching notified the host that he had a dangerous looking mole and advised to get it immediately checked. It WAS cancerous!

There was a post about this recently as well with a baby monitor.

The mom noticed one of her baby’s eyes was not reflecting the same way when it started at the camera. Turned out the baby had a tumor.

    10. It might be nothing more than retinal coloboma in a healthy person with no visual deficit or symptoms, but still worth getting checked out.

I remember Billy Connolly telling a story where he was approached in an airport by a man, he introduced himself and told Billy he was a doctor, he recommended that Billy see his doctor when he got home and asked him to do tests for Parkinson’s, he said he could tell by the way he was walking that he may have early onset Parkinson’s. Turned out that’s exactly what it was.

    12. Philip has huge balls and a heart of gold. Humanity can be so inspiring and heartwarming sometimes.

    13. Sometimes I need a reminder that *SOME* people do become doctors because they really want to help people. Thanks for that.

    14. Someone did that for me. I posted a picture on Facebook to show my friends how crazy my eyes looked. I noticed when I was putting on makeup for work that one of my pupils was dilated and the other was not.

Someone in England saw the picture and DMd me. “I don’t mean to panic you, but you need to go to the emergency department now.”

      It was MS.

    15. This makes me think of the Flip or Flop guy. A nurse contacted the production team telling them that at certain times in the show it looked like he had a lump on his neck – he got it checked out and it turned out he had thyroid cancer.

    16. Amanda Palmer suffered a spinal fluid leak from an unhealed epidural and her blog readers were very quick to identify why she was complaining about having a headache standing up but not laying down. It could have been fatal had it been left alone, but thanks to her sharp eyed fans, she was able to get it patched.

Doctors be noticing medical conditions on a random guy with 4 pixels on their screen like Ultron noticing the Watcher would never be Un-amazing

    18. I’ve done this a few times as a certified lymphedema therapist and encourage people to be evaluated. I try to explain the steps they have to take to be seen and properly treated. I’ve had most get back to me to let me know theyre in treatment and their mysterious symptoms have improved ten-fold! Its so cool to have a skill set that can improve people’s quality of life. I especially feel that way as I am currently not practicing.

    19. That’s wild. Its just like with Simone, the youtuber that would build silly robots. I don’t remember if she mentioned getting headaches, but a viewer noticed one of her eyes was bulging slighty over time watching her videos and suggested she get checked out. It turned out she had a brain tumor and got it removed in time to still be OK.

    20. reminds me of the viewer who emailed a local news reporter to get a lump on her neck checked out because it was a common sign of a type of thyroid cancer, And sure as shit the reporter had a cancerous tumor on her neck.

    21. Awesome stuff. I had a situation come up once – I work in a medical profession that gives lots of shots. Gal came in to get a shot and when she was taking off her sweatshirt and getting her sleeve up I noticed her lymph node in her armpit looked really unusual. Told her to get it checked out. Turns out she had breast cancer. Luckily all went well and she is in remission, but it gets me everytime she comes in. Her kid always has a comment and she always gives me the “bro nod” I’m not “that kind of doc” but sometimes I feel like that one day in school that you actually paid attention pays off.

I notice this on Trump all the time. Lots of clips show his one eye reflect white.

    23. pupperonipizzapie on

Oh I had someone comment this on a picture of me waaay back when I was a teenager since one of my eyes reflected like that. Have been to the eye doctor & regular doctor and they’ve shined their lights in my eyes, nothing unusual though.

    24. Someone I follow posted about her child’s fever, rash, swollen hands and feet, weird-looking tongue and a pediatrician friend said “Get him to the ER immediately to rule out Kawasaki disease because that kills kids really quickly.” She did and yup, pediatrician was 100% right.

My ex was diagnosed with ocular cancer as child because his grandmother noticed that one eye always looked different in pictures.
