Eating in the subway is a generally bad thing and often not allowed.
Eating with your hands does not worsen nor improve the first statement. It is just bigotry on your own part.

People did eat with their hands before knives forks spoons chopsticks etc. were invented. Does OP know that.. face palm for what??hygiene..?? May be they used sanitizers before touching their food? Maybe that’s their culture ?? Sorry why t d is this in r/facepalm?

It’s not the eating with hands, it’s more their demeanors, the unorganized and entitled way these people are sitting. Taking up all that space. The general disrespect towards societal rules.
You have to respect the rules of the country you’re in. Chinese people are very mindful of public spaces usually.
Sure, they’re not perfect. They might talk loudly on the phone or push people in line, but they’re very mindful of public spaces and respect public property.
