Enoch Burke, who comes from an extreme fundamentalist evangelical Christian family in the west of Ireland, is known for being involved in a long-running dispute with his former employer, Wilson's Hospital School.
The dispute arose when he was suspended from his job as a teacher for disrupting a school event in protest of the school's policy of using a trans student's preferred pronouns; subsequently, he continued to show up at the school and was jailed for contempt of court for over 400 days.
Today, he was once again imprisoned for refusing to stay away from the school.

Backstory:
The Burke family are an extremely fundamentalist evangelical family from the west of Ireland. In recent years, they have become well-known for their public confrontations over so-called “transgender ideology”.
In June 2022, family member Enoch Burke was suspended from his teaching job pending an investigation because he disrupted a religious service in a church on the grounds of the school by publicly shouting at the principal. This stemmed from his opposition to the school’s policy of using students’ preferred pronouns, which he considers to be against the school’s Protestant ethos. At the time, there was a student assigned male at birth who wished to be referred to as “they”, which Enoch vocally objected to, despite the student not even being in his class.
Following his suspension, he continued to show up at the school, to the point where the school had to get a court order to ban him from the premises. When he repeatedly refused to obey this order, he was imprisoned for contempt of court for over 400 days. He could have been released at any time if he promised not to return to the school, but he refused this offer.
Now, over 3 years later, he is still being paid his salary because he is exploiting various loopholes to delay the resolution of the disciplinary proceedings against him. However, the courts have recently started garnishing his income and assets to pay court fines.
In this video from 25 November 2025, Enoch Burke is once again arrested by Irish police on the basis of a new commital order for contempt of court, as he has continued to show up at the school. The order had been granted a few days prior, but the police had been unable to locate Enoch until he showed up at the school yet again. During the confrontation, he loudly rants about so-called “transgender ideology” and accuses the state of taking away his religious freedoms.
Man, bro being Evangelical *and* that obsessed with children’s genitals, maybe the cops should dig deeper into his activities…
How come it’s always those guys and not transgender people that hang around schools trying to be inappropriate with kids, I wonder?

THIS is a prime example that we need to stop listening to stupid people and just send them to a mental health facility. I hope this guys doesn’t get free until he had intense and successful therapy.

Don’t know about Ireland but here in the UK I have a hard time believing fundamentalist evangelical Christians will ever truly be accepted by the wider Christian community or public in general. Much too abrasive.

How many kids are actually “turning” transgender? There are definitely kids out there who are. There are kids who explore it – so maybe alter their dress codes or even name – but absolutely zero harm there. But for the *vast* majority it never even crosses their minds. Certainly no one is pushing it on anyone. It’s all just ridiculous.
