Most people in the country without legal status absolutely do not have a mortgage and do not have stable work in the sense that ‘taking your job’ would imply.

I mean construction takes plenty of training and companies will sacrifice a ton of undocumented workers to rush a job then pay journeyman workers to do repairs. So started having separate “repair” company to come in after the job was done
