Roots are beasts. My father planted a tree, years ago, and had to get it chopped down, because it was funneling water into the neighbor’s basement. Now, that same root that he never thought to dig up has made the sidewalk in front of his house turn upward. It’s crazy.

Awww cute baby! Looks really similar to mine, but mine is a mix with a great dane so he’s got a different muzzle. Definitely deserves a treat or two for being a good girl & posing with the root
