This is more common than people think. When I followed the usual illegal immigration playbook a few years ago by flying here and over staying my visa, I brought my calf on the plane as a service animal. Besides a few bad looks from the person seated next to me no one even batted an eye.
I know when I desperately want to get into a country I always bring live animals with me. All the mooing? No. It’ll be fine.

This the worst time line
I work in agriculture and we’ve recently touched on this topic. I’m not an expert on this, but it’s what I remember from a discussion a few weeks ago.
They are talking about screw worm. It bores into the hoof/leg of the cattle and the wound doesn’t heal. Screw worm was originally contained in Mexico by one of our international projects. I can’t remember what it did exactly, but it was effective and cheap. It was defunded in one of the Doge cuts of foreign aid. As a result, it’s spreading fast. It will cost significantly more to take care of now instead of the minimal amount of funding we previously used.
