      I remember that. The guy was sitting in a chair threatening to kill himself, so a sniper shot the gun from his hand when he wasn’t paying attention.

      They always played the clip in those “WILDEST POLICE VIDEOS!” shows.

      Was this the guy that said he regretted taking that shot because it set an unrealistic standard?

      Insane shot, even missed the cylinder prevent ammo cookoff. Probably not intentional, but even the perp agreed “that was a good shot”.

      When the suicidal suspect was being detained, he actually said to the officers as he was cuffed, “Damn you. That was one hell of a shot, I’ll give you that.”

      The rifle is up on the wall of the police department, mounted on a commemorative plaque.

      It’s a Steyr SSG PII chambered in .308 Winchester (with a Leupold variable scope), for those keeping score at home.

      Stupid question, but would shooting the bullets in the gun cause it to explode and possibly do more damage?
