Demoted Yi after getting news that his entire fleet got anniliated thanks to a cartoonishly incompetent nepo baby that replaced him (he is now put back in charge of the remaining 12 out of 85 ships):
Admiral Yi Sun-sin is the undefeated Korean naval commander who had annihilated Japanese fleets for five straight years, defying odds every time. However he is then falsely accused of treason after a Japanese double-agent tricks the Joseon court into believing he ignored orders. Rival faction leader Won Gyun (a notoriously incompetent, corrupt, and alcoholic officer kept in high rank through connections) helps push the charges. Yi is arrested, tortured nearly to death in Seoul, stripped of all rank, and demoted to common soldier. Three months later, Won Gyun takes command and immediately loses 73 of Yi’s 85 warships plus almost the entire navy in the disaster at Chilcheollyang. Yi is reinstated soon after and smashed Japanese forces at sea for good, essentially ending the war.
Admiral Yi is considered to be one of the greatest admirals in history, never losing a single ship in his battles.

Yi had to literally save all of Korea while also having anyone in power in Korea trying to get rid of him

Please tell me there’s at least record of the nepo baby being dead.
Or at the very least, the opposition learning how to survive by not fucking over the country’s only trump card against foreign power.
….
Oh who am I kidding, they probably didn’ learn a damn thing.
