    1. Scrubbed. And now that the DOJ is actively investigating the democrats Trump called out in his post the other day there is a huge chunk of the files that “can’t” be released because it’s part of an “active investigation” …

The DOJ is investigating the files and blocking their release indefinitely? Convenient.

the next problem for trump is if there is damning evidence in what they release… on anyone…. left or right….. why have they done nothing so far? If there is a coverup , it will fall apart, they always do.

This is concerning. He must think the vote will not pass. Why else would he change direction and attempt to save face. Unless his name has been completely redacted from the remaining files.

    5. Probably because he’s gotten wind that a lot of them were planning to vote for it so he wants to make it look like it’s his idea

    6. Trump absolutely can’t handle looking weak. There’s a strong possibility of a veto-proof majority voting to release the files. Now that he’s telling them to release them, he can claim it was his idea all along, rather than looking like he’s not in charge

    7. Trump can just order the DOJ to release the files. Why even talk about voting if he supports the release? Just do it, you coward. Something is fishy here.

    8. For anyone that thinks Trump wouldn’t delete/hide/modify/lie about the Epstein files for his own benefit:

      > Over the course of decades, Donald Trump’s companies have systematically destroyed or hidden thousands of emails, digital records and paper documents demanded in official proceedings, often in defiance of court orders. These tactics—exposed by a Newsweek review of thousands of pages of court filings, judicial orders and affidavits from an array of court cases—have enraged judges, prosecutors, opposing lawyers and the many ordinary citizens entangled in litigation with Trump. In each instance, Trump and entities he controlled also erected numerous hurdles that made lawsuits drag on for years, forcing courtroom opponents to spend huge sums of money in legal fees as they struggled—sometimes in vain—to obtain records.

    9. Probably dumber… They opened the investigation into the Democrats in the files, so even if they vote to release them, they are “part of an ongoing investigation and cannot be released.”

If the victims say he didn’t do anything wrong, what exactly has him so scared about releasing them?

    11. I’m genuinely leaning more toward the “I can’t be seen as weak and not in control, so I’m gonna support the vote in the house now that it looks like it’s gonna pass and work on another way to block the files” camp

      This but nonironically.

They will scrub everything they can. The amount of Redditors and media personalities who think releasing the files will solve anything, is too damn high.

We voted away our democracy last November when we gave the corrupt gop total power.  Everything now until the Democrats regaining power is hopelessly compromised

    13. Isn’t Pam going to say she can’t release them now because she’s conducting an investigation?
