I’m no political scholar but I’m not sure this one has to do with distraction. Venezuela has the largest oil reserve in the world, more than we have. Trump may be worried about distracting people, but those who are behind Trump aren’t stupid and I’m betting they see a significant opportunity in this. It wouldn’t be the first time we’ve used an excuse to go to war with a country that has significant oil resources.

Gotta say, watching all this as a Venezuelan American has been VERY interesting lol.
I highly doubt Trump will actually order an invasion of Venezuela, as even his most ardent supporters are “America First” and want to focus more on domestic policy rather than foreign. That said, I can totally see him doing something similar to what he did with Iran- a quick, tactical air strike.
Also, yes. Trump is almost certainly attacking Venezuela for a variety of reasons- for the oil reserves, as a show of force, and to distract from the Epstein files.
