Oof, I would really like to find someone who passionately speaks about crimes of one of them while *not* admiring the other.
I’d also really like to know if we can ever talk about the crimes of one of them while not minimising the other one’s. Eastern Europeans suffered much more under the guy on the left (you should have switched them, OP…) yet they hate the guy on the right passionately.
Since we seem incapable of that, we just need to make peace with this fact:
Hitler was worse than Stalin. In modern movies and pop-culture about hell, Hitler will always be in Hell. Stalin will barely appear in anyone’s portrayal. In grand scheme of history, when we are far removed, Hitler will always be seen as a unique evil. If there is a Hell and a Purgatory, Hitler is in Hell and Stalin is in Purgatory, period.
Everybody needs to deal with that fact.
EDIT: Everyone of you knows I am right. There are several people who have already said Stalin was worse than Hitler and you showed your disapproval of that, because you know what sort of person would be saying “Stalin was worse than Hitler.” Only one sort of person would ever say that.

Honestly, some Reddit spaces are getting pretty fashy too, like r/MapPorn has a lot of right-wingers on it who will downvote any map they perceive to be “anti-Europe” (like anything dealing with the Transatlantic Slave Trade or colonialism, not even any judgement, just a “here’s a cool map about a historical period”) while signalboosting any map they perceive as “anti-Muslim” (like any time Arab colonialism/conquest maps get posted is full of dumbass “the left doesn’t want you to know about this!” comments) I just want to talk about maps, man.
Anyway, both fascism and communism suck.

I’m not a historian. Just some dumb idiot with access to the Internet and this might be a dumb opinion. But, besides algorithms pushing extremist opinion, part of this might be due to the fact that people no longer see representative democracy as a valid way of seeing the changes they want implemented on Society.
If year after year, the same politicians fuck the same poor people over to put more money on the pockets of the same corporate overlords, people might start questioning the whole thing where we treat democracy as sacred and look for ways they could quickly and effectivley chage Society.
