It’s a lot easier to understand the apparent contradictions in MAGA stances when you realize that “protecting the children” isn’t about protecting the children.
It’s about using children to justify their own biases.
Essentially, it’s a layer of separation so they don’t have to just admit, “I don’t like this because I’m a bigot.”
I support that Drag Queens shouldn’t read books to children while recognizing that the school board, the principal, the parent teacher organizations and parents approve before it is even done in a school library so if they are all in agreement it’s not a problem.
I also don’t believe that Religious organizations should have any kind of events aimed at kids outside of their own church but recognize that it’s permitted by the county or city.
Children shouldn’t be indoctrinated into anything let them grow and learn their own religion and opinions.

I updated it to better reflect my father in law’s opinion on the matter.
