Could be why they’re closing hundreds of locations this year.

All I can think of is that old Lewis Black bit about Alzheimer’s patients and Starbucks being across the street from one another.

Don’t blink. Don’t even blink. The Starbucks can’t move while you’re looking at them.

There’s a Starbucks in my local Kroger, they built a standalone one across the street.

Reminds me of the old Lewis Black routine: I’m at a Starbucks across the street from another Starbucks. I’m at the nexus of Hell!!!

A long time ago I talked w a franchise owner and they mentioned that when people buy rights to a franchise they buy the rights of the location and have to put X amount of stores in that area by a certain date. Idk if this is every franchise but it explained why there are some towns where like five McDonald’s or the two street Starbucks exist within walking distance, captures traffic on both directions lol

Last time I was in NYC, there was an intersection in midtown that had a Starbucks near each corner

They open up so many to close out other options, then close their own stores so they’re the only choice left.

There are 5 places to get Starbucks in my city. They’re all in the same block/shopping complex.

Between their crappy coffee and union busting I wonder how big they got in the first place.

That other one looks to be in a retail or grocery store though. I feel people are likely to go into a store to get it.

We have this problem in Canada but with Tim Hortons and Dollarama.

It is great if you have dementia. Walk out of a Starbucks and say hey look let’s go to Starbucks.

Cardiff city center there was one place where you could stand and see 5, I think only 3 of them survived
I was killing some time at a Starbucks near a bus station, and I realized I could see two other different Starbucks from where I was.

I used to live in Houston. For a while, there was an intersection with three Starbucks on it. It was a T-shaped intersection with a park completely occupying the crossbar side of the T.

[Lewis Black](https://youtu.be/Sg-J2TS13GA) has some thoughts on this exact phenomenon.
This is why subway suffered. They opened too many locations too close together and cannibalized sales from competing with themselves
Lewis Black tried to warn us about this years ago.
