So the sin of gluttony is more sinful than the sin of…gluttony?

Edit: Devils and costumes aside, if it’s just about what you do on those holidays, it’s basically stuffing yourself.

I think “it” refers to Halloween here, but it’s a good example of how pronouns can lead to confusion if you aren’t careful.

    3. This booming age of podcasting/streaming was endearing during the COVID era, as it allowed us to keep in touch with each other in a very uncertain time, but since, it’s eroded the filters that blocked ‘stupidity/ignorance delivered to you’ pipeline.

People now get in front of an audience and reveal their willful ignorance or their lack of knowledge about any topic…I’m moving beyond India Love tbh and I’m saying that intellectually, the world is worse for wear.

    4. I feel like a lot of these “can’t have fun” types of Christians don’t really understand that MOST of our holidays are pretty pagan or otherwise “sinful” by biblical standards. By this metric they shouldn’t celebrate thanksgiving and they shouldn’t celebrate Christmas. Hell you can’t do Easter either for that matter.

I mean, Halloween can’t be as sinful as getting finger-popped in a park during daylight by The Game…

      I mean…

Nothing about Halloween has ever been sinful or demonic at any point in history and that’s what confuses me

I don’t get why people get offended when people call out the demonization of Halloween. Hello, yall are dressing up as the literal dead, axe murderers, dabbling in ouji boards, haunted houses and the paranormal, that’s ALL demonic.

It’s not even a judgement, it’s just straight facts.
It’s not like she lied. If you like the spooky shit, cool, that’s fine. I love a good ghost hunter show, but at the end of the day I know what it is, and I’m not going to be offended if someone says it’s demonic or evil cuz well, it sure as hell ain’t godly.

    8. So, she doesn’t find Thanksgiving’s celebration of the whitewashing of Manifest Destiny to be sinful either? Oh, but then we are looking too far into the origins and should just think of it as a time for family to gather and celebrate in a fun and cheerful way? That would be like Halloween then…right?

I wish people would just acknowledge that they celebrate this shit in a secular manner and shut up with the idiotic pseudo-religious bullshit.

Ah yes the famously non-family holiday when you’re supposed to take your children around and have them interact with their friends, neighbors, and community while you do the same.

    10. I feel like Halloween is the most family-oriented holiday of all. It’s non- denominational so anyone can participate. Kids dress up, grownups hand out candy. Those kids grow up and hand out candy. It’s the circle of life.
