For once, I agree with Jeffries. Opening the government back up now will put SOME federal employees back to work, but that’s it. The poorest of Americans, right now, are dealing with a president who’s fighting in court to let them starve. On top of that, healthcare is becoming far too expensive for most Americans, however Republicans see this as an opportunity to cripple the ACA, and best believe they’re taking it, people be damned. Democrats need more than just “a promise of a vote” for ACA credits.
As a side note, can a decent NY Democrat PLEASE primary Schumer? He’s truly one of the weakest leaders I’ve ever seen in nearly 50 years of living.

For everyone in here pissed about what Schumer put forth, what were you thinking the deal would look like?
They aren’t passing a full budget, it’s going to be a CR that keeps the ACA subsidies.
I’m kind of confused by the anger in here when what he put forth seems like a reasonable deal that aims to address what the Dems wanted from the shutdown the ACA subsidies.
