I have always struggled to experience proper empathy. I will definitely say, living with limited empathy is way harder than living with regular amounts of it. It is very difficult to maintain basic connections when you can’t understand the people around you intuitively.

The crappy part about this debate is that there seems to be this idea that empathy is all good, and the anti empathy crowd thinks its a weakness that impairs good judgement.
Empathy is just as effective a tool of manipulation in the right hands. Especially if its genuine.
Because humans are emotional creatures, and if someone can master their emotions to the point where they can accurately emphatize and read other people’s feelings with accuracy, well then you have someone who can use that information to pull their strings if they so wish

I can confirm. My heavily narcissistic father receives way more empathy for the lies he imbued people with than my mother gets from the abuse he has put her through.
