he doesn’t care that he’s a tenant and the landlord is America.
be wise he’s never given a damn about anyone who isn’t him.

AFAIK, they had to submit the plans for review / approval before construction could begin.
I’ll never understand people getting upset about *this* of all things. The White House complex is being changed — so what? Why should I (or anyone) care? It’s not as if there’s something sacred or immutable about the current layout / structures.
Official residences go under construction / change / improvement all around the world all the time. Why should the US’s be any different?
I think TDS is often thrown around disingenuously to try to diminish valid criticisms and concerns, but I’m starting to feel it might actually be relevant on this particular subject.
I just don’t get why anyone should care all that much about the White House getting a new event space. It seems like for some people it’s purely because Trump is doing it, and they don’t like him.
I don’t like him either. I also couldn’t give two shits about the design or layout of the White House, and couldn’t care less about the East wing having some walls torn down during construction.

No one builds themselves a ballroom that they’re not going to use in 4 years.

Donald Trump = Adolph 2.0! Too bad that Americans know nothing about World War Two! And, why their grandparents and great-grandparents died fighting Donald Trump’s hero!

The people that believed him when he said that his ballroom wouldn’t change the integrity of the White House, and wouldn’t touch the building because it was his favorite place clearly forgot that in his first term he called the White House a dump.
