The “old people elected Trump” is a myth. There are five young, white, college educated males in my family and every one of them voted for Trump and are still Trump supporters. They are all under the age of 30.

Boomers didn’t fight Fascists, their parents did. Also boomers voted less Republican this election than in 2020 IIRC.
This is unfair to the massive chunk of them that were actually progressives: the eldest of them got FDR elected for 4 fucking terms on a capital-critical campaign, and the younger half came home from the war and participated in the civil rights movement and early Pride. A massive part of civil rights discourse in the immediate postwar period was white veterans bullying the government into giving black veterans the same benefits they were getting and desegregating the military.
Pretty sure they are about 100years old or dead now, but yeah all the memes calling them the original antifascists is abit off for a segregated army… or given how the first antifascist movement comes from italy… or how german antifascists got murdered for their antifascist ideals and acts before the us started to take revenge for boats stationed in a US colony… or how true americans like ford had a faible for the ideology that was spread by the nazis…
