Serious question: how much would a high speed rail system exactly like this cost? I think it’d be worth it.
I think this is what they were envisioning in Escape from New-York, although maybe at even higher speeds.
What we really need is intrastate rails connecting large cities within individual states, with pick up/drop off points along the way. Travelling to other states can be done by plane. But to travel across states would become so much easier with rails.
Maybe over time take the profits these generate to start connecting them together forming a nationwide rail system
I like trains too.
