Yeah, we were sliding into fascism in the 80s and 90s. I think that the final stretch was between Fox News coming on the air and Dick Armey’s and Newt Gingrich’s *Contract with America* and Moscow Mitch’s reign as Senate Majority Leader.
In fact, the GOP went full-on fascist mode the instant we elected a black man as POTUS. Trump and MAGA are simply a more toxic version of what Moscow MItch and the Tea Party were doing during the Obama years.

America isnt fascist. It is getting close to being a Turkey/ Hungary/India style illiberal democracy though. That said, it does seem like it is going in that direction though and one big shock event might be all that takes. I am convinced that was the motive of the Kirk shooter. Less about ideology and more about trying to provide the spark for the powder keg.

And herein lies the proof in the pudding, as long as they donât like being called fascists you can hardly argue that you already are there in fascism.
But here comes the caveat, shortly before the actual takeover is done, they start to relativise the term, heavily portraying it as something advisable and desireable, this is the last and ending phase of the gleichschaltung/fascist takeover. After that you cannot post memes like this without being disappeared or after a showtrial, because even though they wonât deny how now its fascism time they will define such a meme as âstaatszersetzungâ or âwehrzersetzungâ as it isnât glorifying fascismâŚ
And here is the kicker, they started to glorify fascism for one or two months now, being more and more open about it, and still they feel societal consequences, getting fired over selfidentification as fascist in televised discussion rounds, but donât confuse that as unintentional consequence misinterpreting the current pre fascist situation, they do this with the purpose of getting axed of getting publically shamed and ostracized, always, because on this they will build a martyr myth like they currently do with kirks assasination heavly trying to paint the assassin as a leftist babaric uncivil pos and enemy of peace, and everyone finding amusement in kirks death as well, whilst they act out civility in the most performative way, fe like trump all of a sudden being decent and civil in reaction to rb ginsbourgs death, neutrally mourning it on camera, further âshowingâ how good âtheir sideâ is, how civil they act and how despicable in contrast their opposition⌠slowly inching towards total gleichschaltung making performative positive appearance look like actual good action sanctifying their plans as good and neccessary.
