    1. They never said trans, they said “law abiding citizens” all while the GOP actively works to make being trans illegal.

I must be missing something. Did the NRA grow a pair and realize that we’re staring in the face of actual tyranny?

They don’t want trans people to have guns for they same reason they didn’t want Jews to have guns.

Liberals have a wide range of perspectives on guns. A lot of them want full bans, some want almost no regulations, and everything in between. Politics is all those beliefs coming together to find compromise and craft policy based on that. That’s why you see so much democrat infighting. That would be HEALTHY if not for the fact that…

Republicans do not have any perspectives or beliefs. The leader tells them what they believe based entirely around what is most convinient for him at the time. Currently they are told that they want all the guns for everybody. Being told the government is going to take them away from trans people is making them briefly push back, but once they understand that the new belief is “guns for everybody but trans people”, they will fall in line. They always will.

The mistake people often make is anthropomorphizing Republicans and then they become confused when their behavior is inconsistent, self-contradictory, or hypocritical. Because YOU think rationally and have individual, unshakable beliefs that shape your behavior, you assume they are like you. But they aren’t. Once you start to think of conservatives more like toddlers or chimpanzees, then their behaviors start to actually become very consistent.

    5. I made this comment the other day – I have some serious misgivings that they are ramping up to criminalize LGBTQ+

Notice how they repeatedly stated *law abiding citizens*

    6. We seem to forget that tramp allowed “mentally ill peoples” to have guns in 2017. This reach won’t go anywhere, mainly because 1 shooting is not a statistical study of trans shooters. Cisgender white male shooters are.

    7. I thought they were just a mouthpiece for the GOP but it turns out the GOP was a mouthpiece for the NRA. Huh.

Let’s be honest, the NEA only opposed it because 1. Lost of profits and 2. Once you take guns from one group it’s only a matter of time before others lose their guns

    9. This is such a distortion. The NRA exists to make money for gun manufacturers. They in no way are supporting trans rights, they are trying to sell guns to kill people.

The 2nd amendment applies to every citizen in the country. Even the NRA can’t argue against that

    11. I think people are missing the politics here. The NRA has concerns over unrestricted gun ownership, **in general.** Restricting an entire class of people from a constitutional right sets a precedent that can and will be taken up by politicians and the public the next time a white, nationalist nutjob perpetrated a mass shooting. Trump doing this would be a political gift to democrats.

    12. It won’t stop with the trans community. They’re gonna take guns from everyone if they get the chance.

Any idea of theirs is going to start with the marginalized and make it’s way up.
