A 4th century BCE solid gold finger ring found in Tomb Z in Derveni, Greece. The ring bears the inscription ΚΛΕΙΤΑΙΔΩΡΟΝ, which means “a gift to Kleita”, most probably the deceased of Tomb Z. Now housed at the Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki [632×517]

      Sometimes, I’m amazed at how old the letters we use are. Thousand of years old and still in use.

      I mean, I don’t think language and the alphabet was invented in the last few hundred years.

      Rather, it seems incredible that people have been writing the letters K, E, I, T, A, P, O, and N the same way for over 2,500 years.
