I’m old enough to remember when people threw a fit that the government was telling them they had to buckle up.
When I was a kid, people would often try to shove the seatbelts between the seat cushions or cut them out entirely, because they thought it made the interior look ugly.
Want to see this meme in action today? Ask the government to require all people who ride motorcycles on public roads to wear a helmet.
That was actually a thing when the seatbelt laws went into effect. Lunatics.

I mean this is New Hampshire. The “live free or die” state. Seat belts and motorcycle helmets are optional.
Had family there and every time I visited and looked around on the highway, like 50% or more with NH plates didn’t have seat belts on.
I wanna know how much car insurance is in NH and if insurance companies have exclusions for ejections or head injuries.
So it’s cool if I do any drug I want now? Cool!
My dad still refuses to wear a seat belt. I work for him so in the rare case of us driving together you just hear “DING….DING….DING….” the whole ride
My girlfriend’s dad in 1991 would wear the seatbelt over one shoulder so it only appeared he was wearing it. Complete nut job!

Until to see how seatbelts have anything to do with “the awareness of systematic cultural racism” but I guess woke as a term is dead by now. It just means “anything I don’t like” at this point.
This is probably the best example to compare childhood vaccines. You implement policy, mortality for events goes down. Therefore, we don’t need them anymore.
