[Philip Esformes, a Florida nursing home operator, was convicted in 2019 for leading a $1.3 billion Medicare and Medicaid fraud scheme, one of the largest ever prosecuted by the Department of Justice. He was sentenced to 20 years in prison, but in December 2020, President Donald Trump commuted his sentence after less than five years served. The decision drew strong criticism from prosecutors and watchdog groups, who argued it undermined accountability for white-collar crime.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_people_granted_executive_clemency_in_the_first_Trump_presidency)

      >Rick Scott, the current Florida senator was CEO of a company that committed 1.7 billion dollars in Medicare fraud.

      >And he got out with nothing. Not even a slap on the wrist. And he got a golden parachute and a bunch of stock in the company.

      >And now he’s a Republican Senator.

      >The corruption is so massive and blatant that we’re just numb to it.

    4. Let’s not forget the senior senior from Florida who got rich as CEO of a company that defrauded medicare of millions and had to pay back $100 million. The senior took the 5th Amendment 50 times to avoid answering questions about his role in the scheme.
