Upper half of a male terracotta kouros statuette found in the area of the Altar Hill of the ancient city of Praisos, Crete, c. 575 BC. The smile, found on other funerary kouroi of Attica and the islands, is characteristic of the Archaic art of the 6th century. [1280×853] [OC]

Cross post next time.
Reminds me of the *Moschophoros* statue, *The Calf Bearer*.
“It was excavated in fragments in the Perserschutt on the Acropolis of Athens in 1864. The statue, dated c. 560 BC”.
Neither hair nor features match, but it gives off the same vibe to me.

I have a terracotta reproduction of an archaic head that I inherited from my parents. It looks somewhat similar to this, with a less complicated hairstyle. I’ve always wanted to know what it is but googling up images was a dead end. I assume it’s a museum reproduction. Where could I post a photo to maybe get some expert eyes on it?
