Gold and brown enamel in the form of a scarab beetle, the back naturalistically chased and engraved with the insect’s abdomen and legs, translucent red enamel covered wings heightened with black enamel spots, diamond-set outlines and neck, the forelegs forming the pendant, pusher to base of wings opens wings to reveal dial, diamond-set eyes, pusher for hand-setting to left of beetle’s neck, case back hinged and opening to reveal glazed cuvette. Oof. Went looking for something similar online and all I found were Sotheby’s listings in the tens of thousands. I need to find a similar style piece from a current creator that I might be able to afford
