I like that he’s obviously very tall and has pale eyes. That’s what would stand out to a Japanese person about a Dutchman.
But also are those holes in his socks or just dots? Dots would be hard to make in knitted socks. Maybe they are just various almost fantasy patterns and fabrics. The asymmetric border on the jacket is way more Japanese than European. It’s almost like Hokusai wave a century earlier. Then there are sleeves. Very cool piece.
