The 1500 year old goat skin Bible of Abuna Yemata Guh, a monolithic church located in Tigray, Ethiopia [2719×1920]

The church entrance is the small hole with path and 2 people in the center of the rock face. The entrance is reached by a steep and hazardous ascent with hand and footholds in the rock. Visitors have to cross a natural stone bridge with a sheer drop of approximately 250 m (820 ft) on either side, and thereafter a final narrow wooden footbridge. To date, no one has ever fallen from the climb to weekly service.
