I like that he had a raked writing-desk. They really are quite nice to use when needing to write a lot by hand.
Additionally, I wonder whether he was left handed, because the space where an inkpot would go appears to be on the left side of this desk. I imagine it would be on the right if he were needing to dip a pen with his right hand.
