The archaeological site of Loriyan Tangai in modern day northern Pakistan a treasure trove of Gandhara art was excavated by Alexander Caddy under the direction of the Secretary of Government of Bengal in 1896. The artefacts were distributed to museums in Lahore, Taxila and London though the vast majority of pieces are in collection of the Indian museum in Kolkata which happens to be the oldest museum of Asia founded in 1814.
