Located in Sir John Soane’s Museum, in London, this vast sarcophagus was built to entomb the Egyptian Pharaoh Seti I (died 1279 BCE). The sarcophagus is carved from a single block of alabaster, with the Book of the Gates being carved across its surface, both inside and outside [452×606]

I visited this museum earlier this year. It’s an extraordinary place.
