A Ceremonial bronze dirk of the ‘Plougrescant-Ommerschans’ type, found in a heath field in the Netherlands, 1500-1350 BCE. In all, only 6 dirks of the ‘Plougrescant-Ommershans’ type are known. 2 were found in France, 2 in England and 2 in the Netherlands [653×1000]

    1. Why are we calling this a “dirk”? A dirk is a fairly specific kind of knife and doesn’t look much like this thing.
