
These pieces were discovered by farmers in the Isthmus of Tehuantepec and Yucatán regions, in the states of Oaxaca, Tabasco, Chiapas, Campeche, and Yucatán. They explored the virgin forests of these regions and found a large number of pieces.
They were given to my ancestors when they got to Mexico during the early post Columbian period, some were bought, some were given as gifts (most of those are gone, since even back then they knew they were replicas)

I’m confused… You say they were given to your ancestors during the early post Columbian period after being discovered in virgin forests, but you also say they are replicas. What do you mean?
