The scarab’s underside features chapter 30 of the Book of the Dead to protect pharaoh Shoshenq II’s heart. The pectoral, overall, has the form of a shrine. Shoshenq II’s cartouche appears between the scarab and the winged sun disk above it. Goddesses kneel on either side of the scarab. [2560×1920]

      This picture was taken during a King Tut expo back in 2012 so not sure where it is now. The pharaoh mentioned ruled in the 9th or early 8th century BCE in Egypt. But upon first glance, I thought the scarab was a great ape face like that of a Bornean orangutan and now I can’t unsee it
