Made in 1561 it is the the royal crown of Sweden used by the monarch except for a short period between 1751 and 1818 when Maria Eleonoras [crown](https://www.kungligaslotten.se/images/18.35bccc2161be12b93e42e/1519381937197/maria-eleonoras-krona-skattkammaren.jpg) was used instead. This is as it appears today after a restoration in 1970 which purpose was to make it look as close as possible to its 1561 appearance, it having been used to close to 500 years many of the kings had made their own personal alterations, before 1970 it appeared as [such](https://sv.wikipedia.org/wiki/Erik_XIV:s_krona#/media/Fil:Royal_crown_of_Sweden.jpg). It is currently in use by the king Carl XVI Gustaf but is not displayed with any frequency, last time being in 76 for his marriage to the queen. But for any important ceremony it will be brought out like [here](https://www.aftonbladet.se/kungligt/a/GMbpll/kungens-trontal-1973-prinsessan-christina-berattar) in 73 for the kings enthronement. The last king to actively wear the crown was [Oscar II](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oscar_II#/media/File:Oskar_II_by_Oscar_Bj%C3%B6rck_-_no_border_(Nationalmuseum,_38942).png) (which he did in great style) but sadly in 1907 all regalia including the crown ceased being worn when Gustaf V refused his coronation.
