This kind of execution method is indicative when there is such emotional feelings toward an entire population of citizens. Why else would you hate a citizen of another country unless you do not understand them at all, and they are completely different from you? This is what happened in history when countries tried to take over countries far away from them. Of course they looked different, acted different, had different culture, and were generally hard to understand. It becomes emotional at that point and you hate them. See the Palestinians and Israelis currently. Except we humans decided to place them artificially in close proximity, which is why the hatred and emotions are so high.
