My dad as a math teacher, Houston, TX, ‘77ish. Emigrated from Panama in ‘63. Retired superintendent of schools. MA in mathematics, almost got his PhD in it but didn’t finish.

OP, I am curious if your Dad faced any bigotry back then as an immigrant? He became super successful so I assume he over came any bigotry he experienced. Did you ever get to travel with him back to Panama?
