Meanwhile…. Poverty is at the lowest point in human history, more people have regular access to clean water and electricity than ever, more women are getting an education than ever before, children have more access to healthcare and mortality rates are plummeting. Violence and crime rates is also down significantly world wide, and even with the recent hot spots, the number of people killed by wars is minuscule compared to historic levels.
But yeah, I guess it depends on your perspective.
