If I was you I would put that outside on a non-flammable surface *right the fuck now*, if you can in a bucket of sand.

You don’t want those cells bursting on you inside on your desk.

Then research where you can locally drop it off for disposal.

edit: DO NOT PUT IT IN THE TRASH.

You think that was an explosion? Wait until the battery really goes. That’s when you get a fire bomb.

Yeah my cheap laptop did that last year. Take that shit and place it outside, in the shade. Preferably near nothing that could catch fire. Dispose of it safely as soon as you can.

    4. It’s not an explosion yet but if you keep it there longer it might become one. Get it out of the house.

    5. You need to get a bucket of sand, and put this messed up battery in the sand. That will contain any explosion. Then contact your fire department about what to do with it. Taking it to the fire department is better than putting it in the trash and potentially setting the garbage truck on fire.

    6. Is this the Philippines? Because it sounds like the Philippines. It was 42C today. Hot, humid, and totally uncomfortable.

    7. Wonder what safe operating temp is. Wonder if it’ll be as exciting as when Tesla batteries ignite. Also, not an explosion, just thermal expansion. An explosion would have shredded it in pieces.

    8. After seeing a few stories about battery fires on Reddit, I started keeping all of my Milwaukee batteries in Ammo cases, and not leaving any connected to tools. Better safe than sorry.

    9. “This power bank is about to explode like a bomb and destroy anything within 5 feet in a violent lithium fueled immolation”

      FTFY

    10. Please find a way to safely dispose of this. I’m honestly not really sure, like possibly even (on a non urgent line, not 911) calling the fire department. That battery is primed to explode which can easily start fires which are extremely difficult to put out and will release highly toxic chemicals, in addition to just throwing plastic and metal shrapnel when it goes.

You just reminded me I have a bunch of electronics thrown in the attic with batteries and I need to dispose it all.

    12. Portable surprise BBQ. If this was mine, my top priority would be to get the piece of shit outside the house NOW. I’m not sure how long it’ll take, might be hours, days, months, years. But I won’t take the gamble. Once it pops, your house is going with it
