My grandfather was born in Hungary in 1922. He fought in the army in WW2 as a young man, survived, and lived until 2001.

My father was 43 when I was born and his father was 41. I was therefore only born in 2006. I never met my grandfather, but it's interesting knowing how different our childhoods must have been, him growing up in the 1920s in Hungary and me in the 2000s in the UK.
