I mean, there’s a difference between costing money but being accessible and have you considered selling a kidney.

I’ve been told the two best days of boat ownership are the day you buy it and the day you sell it.

    4. Holy shit. I built a shelter to keep it out of the snow/ sun so I don’t have to maintain it as much and the fucking snow collapsed the shelter and caused more damage than the sun could ever dream of causing in 100 years. FLM

    5. Boat guys usually have a nice house, solid 401k, a failing marriage, and a healthy income. They’ll be ok.

I guess 90% of the people here don’t understand basic auto mechanic work and the idea pulling the cover off the outboard scares them. A Johnson or Mercury 2 stroke will last decades and extremely easy to work on. Honda, Yamaha, and Suzuki 4strokes are remarkably reliable and while you’re gonna get EFI and all that, still easy to work on. Not everyone needs a $100k Bennington. I love my $4k pontoon. Seats ripped but who cares. Dropped my boat in the water before the holiday weekend, dead battery. Probably should’ve pulled it when I took it out of the water. Oh no, my NOCO jump pack started it right up. I’ll troll around all day or hang at the sandbar. $15 for my yearly tag is such a strain on my wallet too. All this to say, my dog loves and that’s all that matters. [boat dog](https://imgur.com/a/5bNMPTZ#1Bu17xA)

Idk man I’ve been using the same 800$ Costco computer since 2011 and it runs most things on low settings just fine

    8. i had an uncle who flew rc airplanes, and had a big trailer to get them to the airfields. probably a quarter million dollars when loaded up, and that was like 30 years ago. Hurrah for pensions i guess

I think nothing compares to boat costs maybe except for owning a super exotic car or cat
