      I wish more of this super different stuff was around. I find it fascinating but now when I try to get away there’s a subway everywhere

    2. I remember reading about them decades ago in national geographic. The emphasis women check is their teeth. So think about how much of their dress, makeup, and actions draw your attention to their face and teeth.

      They’re not doing too bad.

    5. I would love to know, by their standards, which of these men are succeeding the most at this and which ones are considered the worst.

    6. I’d be interested in seeing the reactions from the women, do they stand in a line as well or what are you doing during this?

      As unusual as the ritual is, I can’t take my eyes off the intricate, colorful outfits. I’d love to wear stuff like that without looking like a crazy person.

      This really is interesting. I think the most surprising part is that, unlike many traditional societies, Wodaabe women have freedom & autonomy in their relationships, and are allowed to choose their husbands.

      I don’t know exactly what the cultural standards are in Chad, but their skin and facial structure alone is attractive.

      Definitely interesting af. I wonder what are the winning features or characteristics the women look for and find attractive? Is it the style of makeup and dress, the facial expressions, the stamina to dance and sing the longest etc?
